| 中文描述 | 立克次体豬附紅血球体。可能為豬蝨及豬虱等媒介昆蟲所傳播，皆有發生在初生小豬至母豬身上。一般而言，患畜之臨床症狀以貧血、黃疸、發燒與精神不振為其特徵。而豬附紅血球立克次體可分為兩種E.parvum與E.suis，兩者之型態，此為血液寄生性病原體，病原性與免疫性不盡相同，前者形小，無病原性人工感染豬隻不能發病，而後者則形較大，有病原性，以靜脈、肌肉、腹腔接種豬隻，能引發典型症狀與病變，如畸形、細胞受損等。 |
| 英文描述 | The rickettsia EPERYTHROZOON SUIS, which can be transmitted by the hog louse, causes icteroanemia in stressed feeder pigs, and is suspected by some swine practitioners to be a cause of reproductive failure in sows, icteroanemia and weakness in newborn pigs, and slow rates of gain. E. SUIS is an extracellular, rod-shaped parasite that attaches to and causes deformity and damage to the red cell. |
